Chhath Mahaparv is not merely a festival of faith; it is a celebration of Indian culture, gratitude towards nature, discipline, and social harmony. Today, Chhath Puja has become not only a cultural identity of the Purvanchal community in Delhi but also a proud tradition of the national capital.
Under the leadership of Delhi Chief Minister Smt. Rekha Gupta, the BJP government is committed to ensuring a clean, safe, and comfortable environment for devotees observing the Chhath fast. Essential arrangements such as cleaning of ghats, proper lighting, drinking water, medical assistance, security, and traffic management are important steps in this direction. The initiative to introduce single-window clearance for Chhath Puja venues is also a positive step towards simplifying procedures for organising committees.
Strengthening the voice of the Purvanchal community remains one of our key priorities. Through the Purvanchal Morcha, issues concerning ghats, land, sanitation, lighting, security, and other essential facilities have been raised with the concerned ministers and officials in consultation with representatives of Chhath Puja committees. Our objective is clear: to resolve the concerns of devotees and ensure that Chhath Mahaparv is celebrated with complete devotion and dignity.
Through its hard work, talent, and entrepreneurial spirit, the Purvanchal community has made a significant contribution to Delhi’s development. Respecting the faith and traditions of this community is also a way of honouring the capital’s rich cultural diversity. The BJP remains committed to ensuring that Indian culture and traditions receive their rightful place alongside development.
Chhath Mahaparv conveys a powerful message of service, cleanliness, and social unity. Let us work together—government, administration, social organisations, and citizens—to make Delhi a city where faith is respected, devotees receive better facilities, and our cultural heritage continues to flourish.
I pray to Chhathi Maiya and Lord Surya that happiness, peace, prosperity, and well-being prevail throughout Delhi and the entire nation.
Jai Chhathi Maiya! Jai Surya Dev!
